                                                             Preface 

  " pita dharmah pita svargah pita hi paraman tapah.

        pitari preetimaapanne preeyante sarvadevata." 

That is, the father is the religion, the father is the heaven and the father is the Supreme austerity. When the father is pleased, all the deities are pleased. 

 This shloka (kind of couplet in Sanskrit grammar ) of  " Padma Purana " is sufficient to explain the importance of father in the life of a child. The word father is derived from the Sanskrit original word 'pitra'. The word 'Pitra' is derived from the dhatu (In Sanskrit grammar, the root form of verbs is called dhatu)  'Pa' which means to protect and to maintain. In the RgVeda's (Ṛgveda, the oldest of the sacred books of Hinduism, composed in an ancient form of Sanskrit) richa (The Sanskrit compositions that came out of the mouths of the sages are called Richa, the compositions which have been composed in the four Vedas are called Richa!) the father has been declared a symbol of all welfare and compassion. Father is not only the giver of life but also the mentor of the our life. In the patriarchal society, we are introduced by the name of our father. The link between the society and us is the father. We not only learn to walk by holding their finger, but also determine the direction of our life from their life experiences. Katherine Pulcifer rightly said that – “Father, Dad, Papa, whatever you call them, they influence our lives and they are the person we look up to (what should be the ideal behavior in every situation? we have learned from father ).”

We got the privilege of being the child of a father like Self Babu Kaushal Prasad ji, it must have been a reward for our accumulated virtuous deeds. A personality who never violated the dignity even in times of calamity like his beloved Lord Shri Ram. Suffered many betrayals in personal and professional life but did not betray anyone. In the face of criticism, always stood firm on his principles. Despite suffering many thunderstorms in his life, he never became an atheist and did not leave the way of good conduct.

 Babuji,a personality blessed with positive energy , continued on the path of struggle even in a very negative environment. The ridicule of devious circumstances could never break his vow to achieve his goal, although he was well aware of this ethical statement that -

" na ganasyaagrato gachchhetsiddhe kaarye saman phalam. 

yadi kaaryavipattih syaanmukharastatr hanyate.."

 that is, one should not wish to become the leader of any group, because if successful, everyone gets equal benefits and if things gone wrong  then only the leader is killed.

Babu ji continued to struggle for the welfare of the advocates and for the welfare of the people, moving firmly on the path of justice. Sometimes he got success and sometimes he failed but never deviated from his path. It is also noteworthy that only one who follows the truth can walk the path of justice with firmness. This is probably why the title of the book flashed in our mind - " KAUSHAL PRASAD : SYNONYMOUS WITH TRUTH "

 It is also clear that we had not imagined the creation of any such book before June 2020. The memories related to the father were  very precious for us personally . The general public and advocates are aware very well about  the works done by Babu ji in the interest of society and advocates - we believed this, but our thinking was challenged by a decision of the elected Bar Association Kairana's executive committee for the session 2020. Shalini Kaushik Advocate resigned from the post of elected Junior Vice President.

Expressing unawareness about the work done by Babu Kaushal Prasad Advocate ji, Hon'ble Secretary asked Shalini Kaushik Advocate for paper proof of the work done by Babu ji and the embryo of the creation of this book  was started to take shape in the womb of this horrific negativity .  Like happiness- sadness, life - death, positivity and negativity also have relative importance. The existence of the other is possible only by the existence of one. The starting point of any creation is the struggle against the negativity prevailing in human life, if it is said then it will never be a statement against nature.

 To fight against this negative tendency to put the dedication of the entire life of a personality in the dock, the "Babu Kaushal Smriti Group" was created on WhatsApp for the first time on 4 August 2020. Many advocates of Babuji's contemporaries on the group shared their memories related to him and the new advocates expressed their curiosity to know more about Babuji.

Mr Imran Chauhan Advocate Ji also requested to publish a book in the memory of Babu Ji. In his own words - I request both of you sisters that a book should be written in the memory of Babu ji so that the coming generation knows how much he has contributed to the interest of the bar and society and that published book should be kept in the library of the Bar Association Kairana. Such suggestions gave  new strength to our vow continually . Although we are all very well aware that

 Personalities who contribute to the society and their specific work field with a dedicated spirit, not only get appreciation in their own lives, but after the end of the mortal body , they deep down in the memories of a very large section of people . 

          The coming generations get to hear their introduction in the form of tales etc. related to specific work skills.People of opposite ideology with some negative energy take the death of such personality as an opportunity, try to take the whole credit for the work which was done by him or show unawareness about the work done by him and ask for paper proof of the work done by him . Although the great personality neither does any work for any credit nor in the greed to carve his/her name on the stones, but the grateful people give immortality to the memories of their ideal personality. Babu Kaushal Prasad Advocate ji had also been a similar personality. It has been the aim of the editor duo to present his loving memories and works done by him in public interest, advocate interest with authentic papers as much as possible.

 This book based on the life (birth, education, marriage, interests etc.) of Babu Kaushal Prasad Advocate ji and his works which were done in the interest of the advocates, titled "  Kantak Path par nange panv : Kaushal Prasad synonyms with truth" is being published in both Hindi and English languages ​​jointly . The purpose of the book is to bring to limelight  the social and advocate welfare works which had been done by Babu Kaushal Prasad Advocate ji, so that this seed of creation would not be buried under the soil of the speedy passing time because of being a victim of conspiracies.

Two dear and respected brothers of Babu ji, Late Shri Premchand Gupta ji and former President of Bar Association Kairana, Late Shri Madan Mohan Sharma Advocate ji, became Brahmaleen ( Immersed in Love of God or expired ) while we prepare this book . Madan Mohan ji was keen to share his memoirs but it was not possible due to his ill health. We pay our humble tributes with praying to the Supreme Father to grant a place to the virtuous souls at His glorious feet .

I express my heartfelt gratitude for your cooperation & well wishes and want to say with quoting some poetic lines of famous poet Kumar Vishwas ji to target negative thinking - 

"  Politics! I can't be lost or successful on your instructions,

Can't disappear or be represented on your terms, 

Even if you bury me deeply with conspiracy, 

I will remain the same , 

I am the seed of creation , cannot be wasted in the soil.

                                                                 भूमिका 

" पिता धर्मः पिता स्वर्गः पिता हि परमं तपः।

पितरि प्रीतिमापन्ने प्रीयन्ते सर्वदेवता ।। " 

अर्थात पिता ही धर्म है, पिता ही स्वर्ग है और पिता ही सबसे श्रेष्ठ तप है। पिता के प्रसन्न हो जाने पर सम्पूर्ण देवता प्रसन्न हो जाते हैं। 

" पद्मपुराण " का यह श्लोक एक संतान के जीवन में पिता की महत्ता को प्रतिपादित करने के लिए पर्याप्त है। पिता शब्द की उत्पत्ति संस्कृत के मूल शब्द ' पितृ ' से हुई है। इस शब्द की व्युत्पत्ति ' पा ' धातु से हुई है जिसका अर्थ होता है - रक्षा करना तथा पालन करना। ऋग्वेद की ऋचा में पिता को समस्त कल्याण व करूणा का प्रतीक घोषित किया गया है। पिता हमारे जीवन के दाता ही नहीं वरन मार्गदर्शक भी हैं। पितृ प्रधान समाज में हमारा परिचय हमारे पिता के नाम से ही कराया जाता है। समाज व हमारे बीच की कड़ी पिता ही हैं। हम उनकी ऊंगली पकड़ कर चलना ही नहीं सीखते बल्कि उनके जीवन के अनुभवों से अपने जीवन की दिशा भी निर्धारित करते हैं। कैथरीन पल्सिफेर ने सत्य ही कहा कि - " पिता, पिताजी, पापा चाहे आप उन्हें कुछ भी कहें, वे हमारे जीवन को प्रभावित करते हैं और वे वही व्यक्ति हैं जिन्हें हम (हर परिस्थिति में आदर्श आचरण क्या होना चाहिए? यह हम पिता से ही सीखते हैं ) देखते हैं।" 

हमें स्व बाबू कौशल प्रसाद जी जैसे पिता की संतान होने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ यह हमारे संचित पुण्य कर्मों का प्रतिफल रहा होगा। एक ऐसा व्यक्तित्व जिसने अपने आराध्य श्री राम के समान विपत्ति काल में भी कभी मर्यादा का उल्लंघन न किया। निजी व व्यावसायिक जीवन में अनेक विश्वासघात सहे पर किसी के साथ विश्वासघात नहीं किया। आलोचनाओं का सामना करते हुए अपने सिद्धांतों पर अडिग रहे। जीवन में अनेक वज्रपात सहते हुए भी न कभी नास्तिक हुए और न सदाचरण से विरत। सकारात्मक ऊर्जा से युक्त व्यक्तित्व वाले बाबूजी घोर नकारात्मक माहौल में भी संघर्ष पथ पर अग्रसर रहे। कुटिल परिस्थितियों का उपहास उनके लक्ष्य प्राप्ति के व्रत को कभी भंग न कर पाई, यद्यपि वे इस नीतिपरक उक्ति से भलीभांति परिचित थे कि - 

 " न गणस्याग्रतो गच्छेत्सिद्धे कार्ये समं फलम। 

यदि कार्यविपत्तिः स्यान्मुखरस्तत्र हन्यते।। 

अर्थात - किसी भी समूह का अग्रणी नहीं बनना चाहिए क्योंकि सफल हो जाने पर सभी को बराबर लाभ होता है और यदि कार्य बिगड़ता है तो अग्रणी ही मारा जाता है।" 

बाबूजी निरंतर अधिवक्ता हित हेतु बार एसोसिएशन कैराना के माध्यम से सेवा करते रहे। बाबू जी के जीवन का बिम्ब जब भी हमारे मानस में उभरा तब हमें वे कांटों से भरे पथ पर नंगें पांव चलते हुए दिखाई पड़े जैसे चौदह वर्ष के वनवास पर निकले श्री राम दण्डकारण्य में असंख्य चुभते कंटकों से युक्त पथ पर देवी सीता व अनुज श्री लक्ष्मण के साथ बढ़ें चले जा रहे हैं। यही से बाबू जी के जीवन पर आधारित पुस्तक का शीर्षक संभवतः मन व मस्तिष्क में कौंधा होगा। 

          यह भी स्पष्ट है कि जून 2020 से पूर्व ऐसी किसी पुस्तक के सृजन की कल्पना हमने नहीं की थी। पिता से जुड़ी स्मृतियां हमारी नितांत निजी पूंजी थी। समाज व अधिवक्ता हित में किए गए उनके कार्यों से सामान्य जन व अधिवक्ता परिचित हैं ही - ऐसा हमारा मानना था किंतु हमारी इस सोच को सत्र 2020 के लिए निर्वाचित बार एसोसिएशन कैराना की कार्यकारिणी के एक निर्णय ने चुनौती दी। निर्वाचित कनिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष पद से शालिनी कौशिक एडवोकेट ने इस्तीफा दे दिया।

बाबू कौशल प्रसाद एडवोकेट जी द्वारा किए गए कार्यों के प्रति अनभिज्ञता जाहिर करते हुए एक माननीय महोदय द्वारा शालिनी कौशिक एडवोकेट से बाबू जी द्वारा किए गए कार्यों का कागज़ी प्रमाण मांगा गया और इसी भीषण नकारात्मकता के गर्भ में इस पुस्तक के सृजन रूपी भ्रूण ने आकार लेना आरंभ कर दिया। सुख दुख, जीवन मृत्यु के समान सकारात्मकता व नकारात्मकता का भी सापेक्षिक महत्व है। एक के होने से ही दूसरे का अस्तित्व संभव है। किसी भी सृजन का मूल मानवीय जीवन में व्याप्त नकारात्मकता के विरूद्ध संघर्ष ही है, यदि यह कहा जाए तो कदापि प्रकृति विरूद्ध कथन न होगा।

एक व्यक्तित्व के संपूर्ण जीवन के समर्पण को कठघरे में खड़े करने की इस नकारात्मक प्रवृत्ति के विरूद्ध संघर्ष के लिए सर्वप्रथम 4 अगस्त 2020 को " बाबू कौशल स्मृति ग्रुप " व्हाटस्एप पर सृजित किया गया। ग्रुप पर बाबू जी के समकालीन अनेक अधिवक्ताओं ने उनसे जुड़े अपने संस्मरण साझा किए व नये अधिवक्ताओं ने बाबू जी के विषय में और अधिक जानने की जिज्ञासा व्यक्त की। श्री इमरान चौहान एडवोकेट जी ने भी बाबू जी की स्मृति में पुस्तक प्रकाशित करने का निवेदन किया। उनके ही शब्दों में - मेरा आप दोनों सिस्टर्स से निवेदन है कि बाबू जी की स्मृति में एक पुस्तक लिखी जानी चाहिए ताकि आने वाली पीढ़ी को पता चले कि उनका बार और समाज के हित में कितना योगदान रहा है और उस पुस्तक को बार एसोसिएशन कैराना की लाइब्रेरी में रखा जाये। "  ऐसे ही सुझावों ने हमारे प्रण को निरंतर नयी दृढ़ता प्रदान की।

यद्यपि हम सभी भलीभांति परिचित हैं कि समाज व अपने कार्यक्षेत्र में समर्पित भाव से अपना योगदान करने वाले व्यक्तित्व अपने जीवन में तो सराहना पाते ही हैं वरन् देह अवसान के पश्चात एक बहुत बड़े वर्ग की स्मृतियों में गहराई तक समा जाते हैं। आने वाली पीढ़ियों को उनका परिचय उनकी विशिष्ट कार्यक्षमता से जुड़े किस्सों आदि के रूप में सुनने को मिलते हैं। कुछ नकारात्मक ऊर्जा से युक्त विपरीत विचारधारा के व्यक्ति ऐसे व्यक्तित्व के देहावसान को सुअवसर के रूप में लेकर उसके द्वारा किए गए कार्यों का श्रेय स्वयं लेने का प्रयास करने लगते अथवा उसके द्वारा किए गए कार्यों के प्रति अनभिज्ञता दिखाते हुए प्रमाण दिखाने की मांग करते हैं। यद्यपि महान व्यक्तित्व न तो किसी श्रेय के लिए कोई कार्य करता है और न ही पत्थरों पर नाम लिखाने के लिए किंतु कृतज्ञ जन अपने आदर्श व्यक्तित्व की स्मृतियों को अमरत्व प्रदान करने के लिए

निरंतर प्रयासरत रहते हैं। बाबू कौशल प्रसाद एडवोकेट जी भी ऐसे ही व्यक्तित्व रहे हैं। उनकी स्नेहिल स्मृतियों व जन हित, अधिवक्ता हित में किए गए कार्यों को यथासंभव प्रामाणिक कागजात के साथ प्रस्तुत करना संपादक द्वय का उद्देश्य रहा है।

बाबू कौशल प्रसाद एडवोकेट जी के जीवन(जन्म, शिक्षा, विवाह, रूचियां आदि) व अधिवक्ता हित में किए गए कार्यों पर आधारित यह पुस्तक हिन्दी व अंग्रेजी दोनों भाषाओं में " कंटक पथ पर नंगे पांव :Kaushal Prasad synonyms with truth " संयुक्त रूप से प्रकाशित की जा रही है। पुस्तक का उद्देश्य बाबू कौशल प्रसाद एडवोकेट जी के सामाजिक व अधिवक्ता कल्याण हेतु किए गए कार्यों को प्रकाश में लाना है ताकि सृजन का यह बीज साजिशों का शिकार होकर भागते वक्त की मिट्टी के नीचे दफ्न न कर दिया जाये। 

बाबू जी के दो प्रिय व सम्मानित बंधु स्व श्री प्रेमचंद गुप्ता जी व बार एसोसिएशन कैराना के पूर्व अध्यक्ष स्व श्री मदन मोहन एडवोकेट जी लेखन के दौरान ब्रह्मलीन हुए। मदन मोहन जी अपने संस्मरण साझा करने के इच्छुक थे किंतु उनके खराब स्वास्थ्य के कारण यह संभव नहीं हो पाया। हम परम पिता परमात्मा से पुण्यात्माओं को अपने श्री चरणों में स्थान प्रदान करने की प्रार्थना के साथ विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हैं।

प्रसिद्ध कवि कुमार विश्वास जी की कुछ पंक्तियों को उद्धृत करते हुए आप सभी के सहयोग व शुभकामनाएं के प्रति हार्दिक आभार व्यक्त करती हूं तथा नकारात्मक सोच को लक्ष्य कर कहना चाहते हैं - 

 " सियासत ! मैं तेरा खोया या पाया हो नहीं सकता,

  तेरी शर्तों पे गायब या नुमाया हो नहीं सकता,

भले साजिश से गहरे दफ्न मुझ को कर भी दो पर मैं

सृजन का बीज हूँ मिट्टी में जाया हो नहीं सकता।।"
